Mas Chaban Dam impounds 14.2 million m³ of water in its reservoir, which is used both for irrigation purposes and for low-flow replenishment of the Charente river.
Floods are discharged through a semicircular morning glory spillway where 20 paired fusegates are installed.
The first fusegates are engineered to tip for floods corresponding to 40% of the Design Flood.
The installation work was completed in just two weeks.
