Montsalvens Dam

Montsalvens is the oldest double-curvature arch dam in Europe.

This hydroelectric dam is equipped with fusegates on its left bank (on the auxiliary spillway sill) and a lift gate on the right bank.

This combination provides greater control over the water level while enhancing protection from major floods and lift gate malfunction.
