To meet the new safety standards, the fusegate solution was chosen by the operator due to its environmental, maintenance and cost benefits.

The ungated spillway was lowered by 7.90 m to make room for the 6.50 m-high fusegates. The normal reservoir level has therefore been reduced by just 1.40 m.

The system guarantees the stability of the dam and floodwater discharge in complete safety.
