Terminus Dam, operated by the US Army Corps of Engineers, enables the protection of the downstream population as well as the irrigation of a vast agricultural plain.
The installation of fusegates has increased the storage capacity by 50 hm³ while ensuring a total attenuation of the flood with a return period of 70 years (in comparison to 40 years, before modification).
This project used fusegates measuring 6.50 m in height.
