Fusegate® technology was chosen by the CERB (Bahia Water and Sanitation Engineering Company) to increase the storage capacity of one of its dams. The Ponto Novo dam storage capacity will increase from a volume of 39.6 million m³ to 48.9 million m³, that is, 24% increase from its current capacity. Thus, water security in the semi-arid region of Bahia, which suffers from frequent droughts, was reinforced. 58 reinforced concrete prefabricated Fusegate® units, of labyrinth type, have been installed in the spillway.
